Last night I had the privelege of attending the Black Sabbath Heaven and Hell tour at the Target Center in Minneapolis. All in all it was a great night. Machine Head and Megadeth opened up. Machine Head is just plain boring to me. I'm not a huge fan of Nu Metal...with the exceptions of a few bands. Unfortunately, Machine Head is not one of those bands. You can skip them when they come to your town. Megadeth is always cool to see. Gotta love their technical thrash and tempo changes. Dave Mustaine's voice get's a litlte annoying. Their setlist was a little off too. Nothing from So Far...too much from Rust in Peace. Black Sabbath is always great live. I've seen them with Ozzy, Ian Gillan and now Dio. The stage set looked great. It was a castle looking thing with two giant gates in the front. Dio was dressed in a sparkly shirt. Tony looked like a preacher dressed in black with his cross hanging around his neck. They opened with E5150. To me they should've gone into Mob Rules. That would have been a show opener. But instead they go into some brand new song. Matter of fact they played like 5 new songs. Ugh. To me that was the only thing that was lacking last night, was the setlist. The new songs did sound good and were very heavy, but everyone was there to hear the classics. Do 1 or 2 new ones and hit the old stuff. Dio sounded great. The band sounded awesome as well. The drum solo was killer. All in all it was very entertaining and fun. I would highly recommend catching Black Sabbath on the Heaven and Hell tour. Well worth the money. My opinion is, I'll see Sabbath whenever they come to town. They never dissapoint. ![]()

Lucky Dog!
Submitted by Musicgoat (not verified) on Sat, 06/09/2007 - 18:52.Megadeth and Sabbath with Dio...lucky dog! I know this is heresy to some but I've always preferred Dio Sabbath to Ozzy Sabbath.
Also, nothing off of So Far..So Good? You'd think at least "In My Darkest Hour."
Nice review!
i saw the mighty sabbath in
Submitted by jolly (not verified) on Wed, 04/23/2008 - 00:07.i saw the mighty sabbath in auckland - new zealand, on 16th of august '07, just brought the dvd - cd set, easily the best concert i've ever seen, sounded so good, a NZL band and 'down' opened, they bored the life outta me, was almost going to sleep, soon as sabbath started it was on, heaven and hell was better than the one on the DVD, the crowd was dying for it, we sung the first verse before dio even prompted us to sing out the riff, its been like 6 months since the concert and i still want a fuckin time machine to go back to it.
to put it simply, black sabbath with dio, is the best metal band, ever.
