My Morning Jacket are a great live band. One of the best. I’ve seen them several times and have been blown away, every time. I can’t describe what makes them so awesome, but they are.

They are going out on tour with Pearl Jam. Yuck. I lost interest in them way back, oh wait…I was never interested in Pearl Jam. At least they have good taste in opening bands. Last year they toured with Idlewild, who are also amazing live. Both Idlewild and My Morning Jacket are the type of bands that sound nothing on record like they do live.

Well, if Pearl Jam comes to your town check out the opening band and bail before PJ stinks up the place. Here are the dates:
